Come along on Saturday 31st October for a Halloween special! At 1pm we will be visiting Highgate Cemetery and then at 5pm going on a ghost walk called 'Ghosts of the Old City'.
Highgate Cemetery
So many people from the group have recommended visiting Highgate Cemetery, so I thought what better time to visit it than Halloween!
We will be visiting the east cemetary only, with it's ornate victorian architecture, it's the burial place of some famous people, notebly Karl Marx, physicist Michael Faraday and John & Elizabeth Dickens, parents of Charles and models for Micawber and Mrs Nickleby. The cemetery is a short bus ride from the station.
Entry is £3 each.
Meeting up at Archway tube station at 1pm.
After the cemetery visit we will be heading for a drink and a snack at 'Ye olde London pub' at 42 Ludgate Hill (near St Paul's tube station). Click here to see a map of where the pub is.
Ghosts of the Old City
Exploring the city's shadowy back streets and dimly lit alleys we might be in a medieval citadel, in overpowering stone. The very street names - Aldersgate, Cloth Fair, Charterhouse, Threadneedle - take us far back. We're alone...or are we? For this is the hour when the She Wolf of France glides through the churchyard, the hour when the dark figure on Newgate wall rattles his chains, the hour when the Black Nun keeps her lonely vigil, and something inexpressibly evil lurks behind a tiny window.
The walk starts at 5pm and costs £7 each.
If anyone wants to just come on the ghost walk, we will be meeting up at St Pauls tube station at 4:45pm.
If you can't see us at Archway tube station or St Paul's for the walk, please call.
Hope to see you there!
Regards
