Fringe Theatre: 'Remember Me'

The Wellington (map)

Selected By: Robert

Come along in the evening of Saturday 26th September to the Network Theatre near Waterloo station to see the play 'Remember Me'.

About the play
Two children, a haunting chorus of time, walk us through the corridors of history.

Along the way weaving together classic and contemporary texts that remember the every man, the unsung heroes and victims of war.

A fusion piece involving movement, film, projection and music.

The stories that go untold.

The stories of every day suffering of the people behind the face of war.

Tickets are £10 each and can be puchased online here...

We will be meeting in the Wellington pub at about 6:15pm beforehand for a drink, the play starts at 7:30pm. Click here for a map of where the pub is.

As always, if you can't see us, give me a call.

Hope to see you there.

Regards

Robert

The play was well put together, but it didn't flow and was at times difficult to understand.

Very well acted and interestingly presented but ultimately rather baffling production. Other than a vague anti-war message was not sure what this play or rather an anthology was aiming at. Bits of Shakespeare and Euripedes cobbled together with other bits of drama that I was unable to identify and the occassional popular song thrown in for good measure made me think of the Joan Littlewood production "Oh What A Lovely War" but whereas that was disciplined and focussed concentrating on the First World War and using the popular songs of the era to make its satirical and very potent message about the futility and horror of war "Remember Me" just didn't seem to know where it was going. Having said that glad I went and was a really enjoyable evening particularly discussing the play afterwards in the pub. Many thanks Rob for organising this.
