Museum of London

Come and visit the Museum of London on Saturday 5th June, meeting up at 1pm at Barbican Tube Station.

About the museum
The museum holds over 7,000 objects detailing London's history from 450,000 BC to the present day and the highlight will be the reopening of the '1666 to today' exhibition after a 3 year, £20m overhaul.

The museum is divided into the following exhibitions:

  • London before London - covers the period 450,000 BC to AD43.
  • Roman London - AD43 to AD410
  • Medieval, Stuart & Tudor London - AD410 to 1558
  • War, Plaque & Fire - 1550's to 1660's
  • 1666 to today

The museum is free of charge!

Afterwards, we will head to the museum cafe to chat over a drink.

    I wonder if Barbican station is closed on 5 June as there is no Central, Hammersmith, or Metropolitan line running through Barbican. If that is the case, where shall we meet? At the Museum of London or St Paul tube station?

    The Museum of London is a brilliant free museum, there is so much to see. The new redeveloped 1666 to the present day gallery is fantastic.

    Lots to read about and see, and the chronological way it is set out helps to understand the way London developed through the ages. It's the type of museum you could work your way through in several visits rather than all at once. Seems quite child friendly with interactive areas too.
