Paddington Mainline Station (outside WH Smith) (map)
Come along on Saturday 26th June for a day trip to Oxford!
We will be meeting up at Paddington Station (on the train concourse), near the shop WH Smith at 10:15am, with the aim of getting the 10:50am train to Oxford.
The train journey takes about 1 hour. Train tickets are about £19, although we should be able to get 2 for 1 tickets at the station on the day.
About Oxford
Oxford, The City of Dreaming Spires, is famous the world over for its University and place in history. For over 800 years, it has been a home to royalty and scholars, and since the 9th century an established town, although people are known to have lived in the area for thousands of years.
The university has educated many famous writers and prime ministers and it's also been featured in many t.v shows and films, including Harry Potter.
We will be going on a guided walking tour of the city (£7 per person) which lasts about 1h 30mins. We will also be visiting the Ashmolean Museum, which after being founded in 1683 is the oldest museum in the UK (free entry). The museum holds significant collections of art and archaeology.
We can also stop for lunch in one of Oxford's many historic pubs.
If you can't see us at Paddington station, please call.
Hope to see you there!
Regards
Robert
