Come along on Saturday 21st August at 1pm for a guided walk of Wapping!
The walk is a private walk just for the group and lasts about 2 hours, finishing at the Prospect of Whitby pub in Wapping, the cost is £7 per person.
A bit about the walk
Visit this most ancient of riverside parishes outside the City of London.
Explore the delightful St Katherine's Marina, visit the site of Execution Dock where pirates were executed.......and much more.
We will be meeting up at 1pm, inside the station near the ticket barriers at Tower Hill tube station, lookout for the 'Cultureseekers' sign.
Afterwards we will head into the 'Prospect of Whitby' pub for a chat over a drink.
If you can't see us at the station, please call.
Hope to see you there.
Regards
Robert

Hi Robert, is Tower Hill tube open next week as there looks like planned closures?
Jayne, oh dear it looks as if you have spotted a problem

We could still meet there if \tower Hill is closed but just have to walk from nearby stations or bus it
Bank and Monument Tube stations are only 15mins walk away. I'm sure an extra 15mins to a 2hr walk will not be too much of a problem
Just found out Tower Hill station and Aldgate station will be closed. The nearest open station is Bank, which is only 15 min walk away.
Why don't we just meet at wherever the walk starts (after Tower Hill station)?
Cherry, Most of the LU serving that area will be suspended over the weekend.
Robert, just an idea due to the closure of Tower Hill would it be a good idea for a group to meet at Bank at 12.45pm and then walk to Tower Hill to start the tour? saves me getting lost!
why can't we at original location? The DLR I believe is running, which the closest stop is tower gateway, just two minute walk from Tower hill.
Apart from Bank station all other tube lines that interchange with the DLR will be closed. By the time you've travelled from Bank to Shadwell station & then a 2nd DLR train to Tower Hill it will most likely be quicker just to walk.
There is nothing wrong meeting at the original location. My thought was that if a small group is happy to travel to Bank station & then walk to Tower Hill but unsure of directions rather than get lost & be late meet at Bank and then continue to Tower Hill as a group
Are we still meeting at Tower Hill or will it be better to meet at Bank..?
Hi,
Yes, we are still meeting at Tower Hill as per original plan.

Robert
